Treasury minister pleased with public engagement
The Treasury Minister says ideas brought forward by the public on how government could cut costs may play a part in the next budget.
Civil servants are now analysing the hundreds of submissions made by the Manx to the SAVE scheme, which started in March.
The public were asked to help government identify ways it can save £25 million in revenue over the next five years.
Ideas ranged from reducing the number of MHKS and reforming local authorities, to centralising government's biscuit procurement policy.
Alfred Cannan MHK says early estimates show 10-12 million pounds could be saved by following through on some of the suggestions.
