Rousing reception for Island Games team at Ronaldsway

National pride in national week

"Everyone should be very proud."

The words of cyclist Elliott Baxter as the Isle of Man Island Games team arrived home.

Elliott carried the Manx flag at the closing ceremony of the Gotland Island Games.

The Manx team has enjoyed its most successful ever overseas event with a final total of 39 gold, 36 silver and 26 bronze medals to top of the medal table.

The first of two planes touched down at Ronaldsway at 2pm.

Tim Glover was there to see the team arrive and spoke to Elliot as he was greeted by his family
