Rapist's sentencing stands after appeal

Deemster didn't provide reasoning in court

A serial rapist from Peel jailed for 18 years has had his appeal against the conviction dismissed.

46 year-old, William Henry Kelly, was found guilty of 10 counts of rape, four counts of indecent assault and two of assault against three women in May this year.

At Douglas Courthouse today (Thurs 21st), Deemster Doyle and Judge of Appeal, Geoffrey Tattersall, dismissed the appeal without giving reasoning in court.

Although, they've said it will be publicly available at the beginning of next week.

Kelly, who was present for the appeal outcome, showed no emotion as he was taken away.
