Preparations for powder paint party

Colour Me Rainbow precedes carnival

Organisers of a charity event which sees Douglas promenade showered in a rainbow of powder paint, have promised to clean up any mess left behind.

Isle of Man Hospice is staging its fourth Colour Me Rainbow fun run, ahead of Douglas Carnival on Sunday afternoon.

Fund-raisers will be moving targets for powder paint bombs as they jog from Castle Mona arcade to the Sefton island, passing seven 'colour stations' along the way.

The event ends in a paint party on the beach opposite Broadway.

But there'll be no repeat of a dispute last year over who's responsible for the clean-up - with an agreement struck between the hospice and Douglas council.

Organiser Sharon Connor says youngsters revel in the opportunity to get messy: (play audio)

You can register to take part in the event on Sunday, before 2pm at the start line.
