Charging points springing up north to south

Manx Utilities is hoping demand for greener vehicles keeps growing, as it continues to develop the Island's electric charging infrastructure.

Two new points have been installed at Port St Mary and Peel in the last month, and the board is offering a reduced tariff for overnight charging of electric vehicles.

Client projects manager Andy Cowie explains the cars are a 'practical low carbon solution' which is cheaper for customers - and that the Island's small size means running out of power need not be a major concern.

He says the MUA is working with other departments across government to make eco-friendly transport more practical:
