RNLI, Live at Home and the IOM Parrot Sanctuary all received £1000

Three charities on the Island will receive £1000 from the Mayor of Douglas' fundraising appeal.

Natalie Byron-Teare chose the RNLI, IOM Parrot Sanctuary and Live at Home when she was first elected last year, saying she picked the charities which provide 'invaluable services' to the community.

She said the organisations have 'unwavering dedication' to serving residents and all provide 'vital' roles including saving lives, rehabilitating parrots and supporting the elderly.

The money was raised at various events throughout the year and the charities were presented with a cheque at city hall.

Councillor Byron-Teare said: "It is a pleasure to support these remarkable organisations through the Mayoral Appeal. Their commitment to serving our community is truly commendable, and I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to their noble causes.

"Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need in our city and across our Island."
