Marine wildlife on view in Port Erin

It's mega!

The mega-tanks are heading south this weekend.

It’s all part of the inaugural Festival of the Sea in Port Erin.

A celebration of all things marine-related, it will showcase the Island’s marine conservation and heritage.

Containing 1000’s of litres of sea water with the equivalent of 6,000 litres pumped through them each hour, the tanks are a temporary home for a diversity of marine life, including dogfish, sea hares, lobsters, sea urchins and different kinds of starfish.

The event offers the chance to see creatures close-up and is based in front of the old marine laboratory on Saturday and Sunday from 10am.

The festival officially starts with music on the Bushy's stage on the beach tonight (Friday).
