Manx specials in UK police investigation

Volunteer constables 'closest to reality'

Special constables have their ear close to the ground on the real problems in society.

That's the message from the Isle of Man Constabulary's Specials Superintendent, Sonia Rowe.

Volunteer officers are now being trained on how to detect serious crime, and their progress is being logged as part of a major UK research training development project.

This week, they're being briefed on the telltale signs of child sexual exploitation.
