Defendant was due to be sentenced on separate charge

A Douglas man has been arrested after arriving in court this morning (Tuesday).

Gavin Royston Organ of Drury Terrace was due to appear before Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes for sentencing on a charge of resisting an officer in the execution of duty.

However, when the 39 year-old arrived at Douglas courthouse, he was searched by police who found a container with a white substance, believed to be controlled drugs.

He was subsequently arrested and the case adjourned until a week today (February 13).
