Follows issues with packaging machine at start of year
Isle of Man Meats has been told to dispose of more of its beef.
It's after an investigation by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.
At the start of the year, a fault with a packaging machine was identified, which caused delays and meant some product had to be destroyed and a small amount was voluntarily recalled as a precaution.
Since then, DEFA's been investigating to make sure all processes meet industry standards, and has now identified concerns with certain processing practices.
It's now instructed Isle of Man Meats to dispose of some additional beef processed at the factory immediately, and another recall's been issued for a small amount of beef product sent to Tesco this week.
The investigation is ongoing, and further action in the coming days hasn't been ruled out.
