Evidence to be heard on child abuse

Social Affairs Committee meets today

The body in charge of analysing Manx social policy will hear evidence about child abuse this afternoon (Thur 22).

Anne Seed, Head of Operational Services at St Christopher's Fellowship, will meet with the Social Affairs Committee in the Legislative Council Chamber, represented by David Cretney MLC and Julie Edge MHK.

The discussion takes place as part of the Committee's inquiry into whether or not the current procedures to protect children in care from abuse are adequate.

Public are welcome to attend the hearing, which begins at 4pm, or can listen via the audio webcast service on the Tynwald website.
