Port Erin man also fined during appearance at Douglas Courthouse
A Port Erin man has been banned from the road for two years after admitting drug driving.
Joshua Liam Samuels, of Erin Way, crashed his car in Ballasalla on 27 July last year, and called police himself.
He failed a drug wipe test, and he was later found to have over three times the legal limit of the main metabolite of cocaine - Benzoylecgonine - in his system.
The 33-year-old also admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour towards Subway staff in the Shoprite in Port Erin in October last year.
Samuels' advocate told the court he "has no verbal filter" due to underlying health conditions, and that he was "sincerely regretful" for the incident.
At Douglas Courthouse magistrates fined him £1,000 and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £125.
He will remain disqualified until he’s taken, and passed, an extended driving test.
