Endoscopy talks 'did take place'

Minister speaks in Keys

The Health Minister insists she spoke with the League of Friends of Ramsey Cottage Hospital about moving endoscopy equipment to Nobles Hospital -although that has been denied by the body itself.

Kate Beecroft was speaking in the House of Keys this morning (Tues) in response to a question from Ramsey MHK Alex Allinson.

The move caused considerable upset in the town and led to a requistion meeting in Ramsey being held.

Mrs Beecroft maintains charitable donations of equipment to the Department have no conditions associated with them but regrets the reconfiguration of endoscopy services wasn't adequately communicated.

Mrs Beecroft told the House she had a phone conversation with the Chair of the League of Friends on May 10 and her Chief Executive spoke to the Chair of Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital Welfare Trustees on May 22, followed by an update on 20th June.
