Plans submitted for 'Leonidas' which has outlets in 40 countries
Plans have been submitted which could see a new chocolatier opening its doors in the Island’s capital.
The company Belgian Confectionary Boutique is asking for permission to install a new shop front at 83 Strand Street.
That spot is currently occupied by Claire’s.
However Manx Radio understands the details submitted on the planning application are wrong and the business is actually due to take up unit 1A in the Strand Centre.
Proposed signage, submitted with the application, shows the unit would be called ‘Leonidas’ and carry the strapline: ‘The Preferred Belgian Chocolatiers’.
Leonidas was established in 1913 and has more than 1200 sales outlets in 40 countries; it claims its mission is to ‘create truly blissful moments by making the luxury of chocolate accessible to everyone’.
