Armistice Day marked by Culture Vannin

Poem translated into Manx

Veterans and family members of those who fought and were lost in battle came together this morning to remember them.

The Isle of Man joined other countries around the world in falling silent for two minutes at 11 o clock in remembrance - marking Armistice Day in 1918.

That was the day an agreement was signed between the Allies of World War 1 and Germany to stop hostilities on the Western Front.

People and organisations are commemorating it in their own special ways - Culture Vannin has prepared a Manx language version of the poem; 'We Will Remember Them', or 'Nee Mayd Cooinaghtyn Orroo' - read by Bob Carswell - with singing by Ruth Keggin:
